Role Profile:

Report authors interface directly with the consumers of reports and dashboards or a representative of this group. Report authors must have a clear understanding of the business questions to be answered and the measures and attributes (columns) needed to visually analyze and answer these questions. The report author should also be knowledgeable of visualization best practices, such as symmetry and minimalism, in addition to any corporate standards for report formatting and layout & granular control over the appearance and behavior of visualizations.

Report authors should be very familiar with all standard capabilities, such as conditional formatting, drilldown, drillthrough, and cross-highlighting, as they often lead demonstrations or training sessions. Additionally, report authors should understand the organization's policies on custom visuals available in the MS Office store and the specific use cases for top or popular custom visuals

The below Key Performance Areas include but are not limited to:

Technical Skills:

  • DAX & Power Query knowledge
  • Developing visual reports, dashboards and KPI scorecards using Power BI desktop.
  • Analytical thinking
  • Developing tabular and multidimensional models
  • Developing design methodology and documentation

 

Report authoring

 

  • Implementing the concept of the report
  • Achieving the sign off for the prototype of the report
  • Communicating with Model Designer to achieve desired measures and fields
  • Creating the front end to answer business questions

 

Communicate with the Line manager any variance or improvements to be made to current department practices 

 

  • Highlight deviation from the agreed process or T&C to the Line manager

 

Develop relationship both internal and external to achieve the objective within the timeline

 

  • Work as part of harmonious and productive team
  • Work cross-functionality with other team and function to ensure the smooth development and implementation of department strategies 
  • Contribute with the best practice within the department and across Alshaya to enhance the business
  • Communicate relevant information to internal/external parties while presenting the company in a professional manner
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in line with Alshaya’s values and vision
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines

Experience

ü Extensive experience in retail sales with focus on B2B corporate sales

ü 5 years of sales experience 

ü Bachelor’s degree
